Jebel Ali, and why UAE stock ships first
The range is held in Dubai and cleared through Jebel Ali, the port the rest of the territory is fed from. For a buyer in the UAE that removes the longest variable in any fittings order, the wait for a production slot, because a mixed order across figures and sizes is picked from stock and delivered inside the Emirates. Where a single project is large enough to fill a container of one or two figures, it is also quoted shipped direct from Brazil, and the two numbers are put side by side so the decision is made on landed cost rather than on a promise.

MI pipe fittings: malleable iron, not mild steel
In Dubai price lists MI is sometimes written out as mild iron or mild steel. For threaded pipe fittings MI means malleable iron: cast iron that is heat-treated so it deforms before it cracks, which is what lets a fitting take wrench torque on the thread and line pressure in service.
GI is not a separate material. It is the same malleable-iron fitting, hot-dip galvanised. TUPY supplies both finishes, black and galvanised, so a GI fitting from TUPY is also an MI fitting. The BSP range is made to EN 10242 / ISO 49 and the NPT range to ASME B16.3 in ASTM A197 malleable iron.

UL Listed and FM Approved fittings for UAE fire lines
Selected TUPY BSP figures and sizes carry UL Listing and FM Approval. For a fire-protection submittal, match the exact figure, size, finish and service conditions against the current listings and certificates. The Dubai team can provide the applicable documents with the quotation.

BSP for plumbing, NPT Class 150 and 300 for fire and plant lines
UAE plumbing and building services work mainly in BSP threads, parallel and taper, and that is what is held in Dubai stock. Fire contractors working to NFPA, oil and gas packages and US-specified plant call for American NPT, which TUPY makes in two pressure classes to ASME B16.3: Class 150 for working pressures up to 300 psi and Class 300 for up to 2,000 psi in the small sizes.
NPT is supplied to order, and every NPT figure has a downloadable datasheet with sizes, dimensions and its pressure-temperature rating. Getting the thread and class right at the enquiry stage is what keeps a delivery from being rejected on site.

The certificates that ship with every UAE consignment
Every consignment travels with its documents. The fittings are made under ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems certified by Bureau Veritas, and the range carries UL Listed, FM Approved, DVGW, ABNT and INMETRO marks where they apply, so a consultant approval or a project submittal is answered from evidence rather than from a claim.

Every size and figure, 1/8in to 6in
The range runs from 1/8in to 6in across the full figure list, elbows, tees, sockets, unions, nipples, bushes, caps, plugs, bends and reducers, so a UAE bill of materials is filled from one source rather than split across several. The dimensions and working pressures are published so a line can be specified before the order is placed.

Do you supply galvanised (GI) fittings for coastal projects?
Galvanised TUPY malleable-iron fittings are available alongside black-finish versions. GI describes the galvanised finish; MI describes the material. Confirm the figure, size and suitability for the service in your enquiry.
What does MI mean in MI pipe fittings?
MI stands for malleable iron, the heat-treated cast iron that threaded fittings are made from. Dubai listings sometimes write it as mild iron or mild steel, but the material is malleable iron. TUPY makes it in black and galvanised (GI) finishes.
What is the difference between GI and MI fittings?
MI is the material and GI is the finish. A GI fitting is a malleable-iron fitting hot-dip galvanised for corrosion protection; a black MI fitting is the same fitting without the zinc coating, normally used for gas, steam, compressed air and painted fire lines.
Do you supply NPT Class 150 and Class 300 fittings in the UAE?
Yes. TUPY NPT fittings to ASME B16.3 are supplied to order in Class 150 (up to 300 psi) and Class 300 (up to 2,000 psi in sizes up to 1in), black and galvanised, and each figure has a datasheet PDF to attach to a submittal.
