In fire protection networks the hydrant branch is usually taken off the main pipe with a tee and a reducing bush together. That combination adds two extra threaded joints to the line and raises both the cost and the time of installation. TUPY casts the figure 138 fire protection tee in one piece for exactly this duty.
It is supplied in 4 x 2 1/2in (100 x 65 mm): two 4in run ends and a 2 1/2in branch for the hydrant valve. The material, as with the rest of the TUPY threaded range, is blackheart malleable cast iron to grade JMB 350-10, produced hot-dip galvanised and black.
