On a fire protection network the approvals are not paperwork, they are the specification. TUPY Brazil threaded fittings carry FM Approval and UL Listing, the two marks most often demanded on sprinkler work across the Gulf, and are held in Dubai for immediate supply.
FM Approvals tests and certifies products for safety against fire and explosion; UL — Underwriters Laboratories — is the international safety certification most often named alongside it. TUPY fittings hold both, together with INMETRO certification, and are produced under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems.
Not every figure and size in the range is approved, and a specification will normally be written against particular codes. The full list of TUPY fittings holding FM Approval, UL Listing and INMETRO approval is published on this site, broken down by product line, fitting type, size and part code, so a submittal can be checked against it directly.
Alongside the standard range TUPY makes a dedicated fire protection tee, figure 138, for sprinkler branch connections. It is listed with the rest of the range in the catalogue with its own dimension and weight table.
A sprinkler network sits full of water and idle for years, and is then asked to hold pressure without warning. Blackheart malleable cast iron, grade JMB 350-10, stretches about 10 per cent before it breaks, where grey cast iron fails abruptly from the graphite flakes running through it. Each fitting is hydrostatically tested at 100 bar in sizes 1/8 to 4 inch and 64 bar in 5 and 6 inch, against a working rating of 25 bar.
Fittings for fire service are normally supplied hot-dip galvanised to ISO 1461, which is what keeps a wet system from corroding internally over its standing life.
The threaded BSP and NPT lines and the TUPYPRES press system are both used on fire protection work; TUPYPRES is FM, UL and DVGW approved and makes a joint without thread cutting or welding, which shortens installation on repetitive branch work.

Yes. The range carries FM Approval and UL Listing, along with INMETRO certification. The published code list on this site shows exactly which figures and sizes are covered.
Normally yes. Hot-dip galvanising to ISO 1461 protects a wet system that stands full of water for long periods.
Yes — the fire protection tee, figure 138.
Yes. TUPYPRES is FM, UL and DVGW approved and joins without threads or welding.
